Autumn is in full force and it\u2019s hard to believe the culmination of the high school fall golf season is upon us. Weeks of dedication and perseverance in the hours of hard work put in after school paid off for many PKBGT members in State Championships that took place over the past few days. <\/span><\/p>\n

In total, eight members of the tour won individual state champion honors and 24 members earned the title of \u201cState Champ\u201d as part of teams that brought home the title. We recognize the accomplishments of each incredibly talented young lady below. One thing is for certain. These girls are good. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

North Carolina<\/b>: <\/b><\/h2>\n

Class A\/AA<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n

Katherine Schuster <\/b>(Kills Devil Hills, NC 2021) of First Flight High School won her second straight individual championship in this class with scores of 68-71, 139. <\/span><\/p>\n

Lauren Denhard <\/b>(Salisbury, NC 2019) and <\/span>Katelyn Griggs <\/b>(Lexington, NC 2022) were part of the Gray Stone Day School that won the team championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Class AAA<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n

Ana Tsiros <\/b>(Asheville, NC 2019) of Asheville High School won the individual championship in this class with scores of 70-74, 144.<\/span><\/p>\n

Riley Hamilton <\/b>(Reidsville, NC 2020), <\/span>Victoria Cook <\/b>(Reidsville, NC 2020),\u00a0<\/span>Elli Flinchum<\/b> (Summerfield, NC 2022) and\u00a0Olivia Peterson\u00a0<\/strong>(Summerfield, NC 2022) brought home the fourth consecutive team championship for Rockingham County High School.<\/span><\/p>\n

Class AAAA <\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n

Sasha Hayes <\/b>(Winston-Salem, NC 2020) won the individual championship with scores of 74-70, 144. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hayes along with <\/span>Morgan Ketchum <\/b>(Winston-Salem, NC 2022) and <\/span>Mary Slade White <\/b>(Winston-Salem, 2019) won the team championship for Reagan High School. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Division 1 NCSIAA <\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n

Reigning PKBGT Invitational Champion <\/span>Amanda Sambach <\/b>(Davidson, NC 2021) added another piece of hardware to her trophy shelf, taking home the individual state championship with an impressive pair of scores at 64-71 135. <\/span><\/p>\n

Muskan Uppal <\/b>(Cornelius, NC 2019), <\/span>Sophie Holland <\/b>(Cornelius, NC 2020), <\/span>Elena Jacoby <\/b>(Huntersville, NC 2019) and <\/span>Mirabella Calabrase <\/b>(Cornelius, NC 2019) joined Sambach in celebrating a team championship for Cannon School. <\/span><\/p>\n

Division 2 NCSIAA <\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n

Kelley Topiwala <\/b>(Matthews, NC 2020), <\/span>Bethany Welch <\/b>(Matthews, NC 2023) and <\/span>Annalise Dale <\/b>(Charlotte, NC 2020) all contributed to the team championship for the Camel Christian School. <\/span><\/p>\n

South Carolina<\/b>: <\/b><\/h2>\n

Class AAAAA<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n

Isabella Rawl <\/b>(Lexington, SC 2022) won the individual championship finishing with a 144 (-2). <\/span><\/p>\n

Karlee Vardas <\/b>(Lexington, SC 2021), <\/span>Molly Hardwick <\/b>(Lexington, SC 2022),\u00a0Emily Beiers <\/strong>(Lexington, SC 2021)\u00a0and <\/span>Isabella Bernagozzi <\/b>(Gilbert, SC 2022) joined Rawl in earning Lexington High School\u2019s third straight team championship and the school\u2019s 13th in 15 seasons. <\/span><\/p>\n

Class AAAA<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n

Emma Charles <\/b>(Hartsville, SC 2019) of Hartsville High School won her first golf tournament ever at the biggest stage in taking home the individual state title with a 146. <\/span><\/p>\n

Gillian O\u2019Brien <\/b>(Clemson, SC 2019) and <\/span>Emileigh Swords <\/b>(Liberty, SC 2019) helped lead Daniel High School to the team state championship in this class. <\/span><\/p>\n

Class AAA<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n

Jensen Castle <\/b>(West Columbia, SC 2019) of Gray Collegiate Academy took home the individual state championship with a stellar 137 (-7). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Castle and her sister <\/span>Jalen Castle <\/b>(West Columbia, SC 2019) combined their sibling power to lead Gray Collegiate to the team state championship. <\/span><\/p>\n

Virginia<\/b>:<\/b><\/h2>\n

Kendall Turner <\/b>(Chesapeake, VA 2019) of Great Bridge High School won the Virginia Open State Championship with a 147.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 700 members in 2018 and 750 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
