On Saturday-Sunday, September 29-30, the\u00a0<\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>plays the\u00a0<\/span>Middle Atlantic Series Finale<\/a>\u00a0event at <\/span>Fawn Lake CC<\/a>\u00a0in Spotsylvania, VA.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Middle Atlantic Series included 11 One-Day tournaments in The Middle Atlantic,\"\"\u00a0concluding this weekend with a two-day Series Finale. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression<\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/p>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget in to the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of the One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.\u00a0The Middle Atlantic Series Finale at Fawn Lake CC features a field of 54 players from the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour.<\/p>\n

Prep Division<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Leading the Prep Division after the first round is Bailey Davis (White Plains, MD 2023) with a round 1 score of 69 (-3). Bailey sank five birdies on the day. Sue Lee (Lorton, VA 2022) is currently sitting in 2nd place after firing a 73 (+1). Rounding out the top-3 is Rory Weinfurther (Midlothian, VA 2020) who finished the round with a 74 (+2).<\/p>\n

Futures Division<\/h2>\n

In the Futures Division, our leader after round 1 is Catherine Qiu (Great Falls, VA 2024) with a score of 82 (+9). Currently tied 2nd place with a round 1 score of \u00a086 (+13) is Kinsley Stokes (Poolesville, MD 2024) and Josephine Nguyen (Springfield, VA 2024).<\/p>\n

Discovery Division<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

The leader of the Discovery Division after round 1 is Kanchana Duangsam (Haymarket, VA 2026) with a score of 33 (-3) and sunk an eagle. Currently in 2nd place with a round 1 score of 39 (+3) is Makayla Grubb (Stafford, VA 2025). Sitting in a three way tie in 3rd place is Madison Lehr (Mechanicsville, VA 2024), Alina Ho (Great Falls, VA 2024), and Cailyn Park (Fairax, VA 2025) who shot a 44 (+8) in round 1.<\/p>\n

The <\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/span><\/a> is an initiative of the <\/span>Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/span><\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 700 members in 2018 and 750 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
