(Sept. 4, 2024)&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 Gainbridge\u00ae, Parity, and the Women\u2019s Sports Foundation&nbsp;(WSF\u00ae) announce the recipients of grants for \u201cParity Week by Gainbridge\u00ae:Investing in the Future of Women\u2019s Sports.\u201d This year, $150,000 in grants is being awarded to 21 deserving organizations and athletes that support girls and women through sports and\/or education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gainbridge<strong>\u00ae<\/strong>, a Group 1001 company, and its sister company Parity,&nbsp;a brand sponsorship platform committed to closing the gender income and opportunity gap in professional sports, formed a committee to review each grant application. More than 150 grant applications were submitted during this first year of grant giving as part of Parity Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s Parity Week grant recipients include organizations and athletes from 13 states and Washington, D.C., representing the far-reaching impact these grants will make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The grant recipients are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Beyond the Field Youth Camp with Parity athlete Cierra Jordan (Naples, FL)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Black Girl Hockey Club (Rutherford, NJ)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boys &amp; Girls Club of Indianapolis (Indianapolis, IN)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full Send Aerial Academy with Parity athlete Cheta Emba (Glen Allen, VA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generation W (Jacksonville\/Orlando, FL)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Girls Golf of America (Greensboro, NC)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Girls on the Run New Orleans (New Orleans, LA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Got Her Back Charity with Parity athlete Odessa Jenkins (Rowlett, TX)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ICEF Public Schools (Los Angeles, CA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leveling the Playing Field (Washington, DC)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Native Youth Foundation (Valley Center, CA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New Heights Youth, Inc. (Brooklyn, NY)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PISTE Academy with Parity athlete Nzingha Prescod (Brooklyn, NY)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serve the Future with Parity athlete Leslie Banks (Phoenix, AZ)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That Harper Kid Foundation with Parity athlete Linnae Harper (Chicago, IL)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Ellis Effect with Parity athlete Kendall Ellis (Pembroke Pines, FL)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Shift Up Now Foundation with Parity athlete Pippa Mann (Indianapolis, IN)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Venture Outdoors (Pittsburgh, PA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Women and Kids Empowerment (WAKE) with Parity athlete Batouly Camara (West Haven, CT)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your Foot, My Foot Foundation with Parity athlete Maya Neal (Naperville, IL)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Each grant recipient will receive $5,000 in honor of Gainbridge\u00ae ambassador, sports icon, and social justice pioneer Billie Jean King, who started WSF\u00ae 50 years ago with a $5,000 check. WSF\u00ae&nbsp;is one of the&nbsp;<em>first<\/em>&nbsp;organizations to recognize the powerful connection between sport access, equity, and society.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In honor of King\u2019s passion for tennis and commitment to furthering women\u2019s sports, Gainbridge\u00ae&nbsp;and WSF\u00ae&nbsp;are also awarding one special $50,000 grant to the Junior Tennis Foundation (the charitable arm of USTA Eastern) to help resurface tennis courts and establish community tennis programming at the Eisenhower Park in Long Island, New York. Eisenhower Park is meaningful to King and WSF\u00ae&nbsp;as it was a longtime headquarters of WSF\u00ae&nbsp;from 1986-2017 before the Foundation\u2019s offices relocated to New York City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This November, grant recipients will execute their projects, and other Parity Week and Gainbridge\u00ae sponsored events will take place: The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge<strong>\u00ae<\/strong>&nbsp;at Pelican, which runs November 13-17 in Belleair, FL, and the Billie Jean King Cup\u00ae&nbsp;by Gainbridge<strong>\u00ae<\/strong>, known as the World Cup of Women\u2019s Tennis, which runs November 13-20 in Malaga, Spain. These flagship events amplify Parity Week\u2019s aim of supporting girls and women in sports and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBy championing organizations and athletes that support women and girls in sports and education, we are supporting causes that prioritize inclusivity and community \u2013 both on and off the playing field,\u201d said Group 1001 President and CEO Dan Towriss. \u201cAligning with Gainbridge\u00ae&nbsp;ambassador and equality champion Billie Jean King and the Women\u2019s Sports Foundation\u00ae&nbsp;is a way to make a positive and long-term impact on women and girls in sports and education.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur organization exists to elevate and support women competing in all sports,\u201d says Parity CEO Leela Srinivasan. \u201cThis remarkable, diverse group of grant recipients came to the table with bold initiatives that will help the next generation of girls and women pursue their athletic dreams in fencing, track and field, motorsports, football, and so much more.
