Leesburg, Va. \u2014<\/strong> Ashika Vuradi<\/strong> (Brambleton, Va. 2027) and Bryn Krosse<\/strong> (York, Penn. 2030) took home first in their respective divisions this week at the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour<\/a>‘s Lansdowne Resort Girls Classic at Lansdowne Resort<\/a>‘s Greg Norman Course. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against 13 other competitors on the 5950 yard setup, Vuradi held tight to first both days in order to claim her first ever PKBGT win. With a birdie a day, Vuradi shot 73 (+1) during the first round and 76 (+4) during the second for a total of 149 (+5) over the two days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Leesburg local, Madison Rizzo<\/strong> (Leesburg, Va. 2025) placed second, ending the two rounds with a total of 150 (+6). Rizzo made the most birdies over both days with four, making a pair during each round. In her first top-3 finish of the season, Mikaila Lamas<\/strong> (Vienna, Va. 2027) took home third with a two-day total of 157 (+13).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the 26 players in the Futures National division, Krosse pushed forward during the second round to finish first, scoring 76 (+4) during the first round and 73 (+1) during the second day for a total score of 149 (+5). This win marks the beginning of a winning streak for Krosse, who recently won at the Middle Atlantic Series @ Crofton Country Club in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bani Banwait<\/strong> (North Bethesda, Md. 2030) took home second with a total of 154 (+10) after the two days. The North Bethesda native put up an impressive fight to keep hold of second, making three birdies during the second round alone. With the most birdies in one round at four made during the first round, Isabel Vizgaitis<\/strong> (Alexandria, Va. 2028) placed third with a two-day score of 156 (+12).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to the champions of the Lansdowne Resort Girls Classic and all of our medalists from the weekend. We would like to thank the staff at the Lansdowne Resort and Golf Course for the courses’ good conditions and their wonderful hospitality. This year’s courses provided a great challenge for our competitors with the notoriously demanding four-hole stretch dubbed \u201cthe hardest mile in golf\u201d by creator Greg Norman himself, all against the backdrop of the gorgeous Potomac River!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the PKBGT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
