North Carolina Series at Sapona Golf Club<\/b><\/h3>\r\n

Prep Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Cailynn Winford <\/strong>(Mooresville, NC 2023) scored a 76 (+5) at the North Carolina Series at Sapona Golf Club, giving her the championship trophy by three strokes. Despite the heat, she made three birdies, helping to achieve her spot in first. This was also Winford’s first time taking first at a PKB event!<\/p>\r\n

Futures Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Regardless of the heat and humidity, Kaylee<\/strong> Nguyen <\/b>(Charlotte, NC 2026) accepted the challenge of placing first at the North Carolina Series at Sapona Golf Club. She took home the hardware with a score of 80 (+9). This makes for the second time Nguyen has won a PKB tournament!<\/p>\r\n

Discovery Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Ira Joshi<\/strong> (Charlottesville, NC 2029) played a great round, scoring a 34 (-1) at the North Carolina Series at Sapona Golf Club. It seems fitting that she continues her reign as champion, since she took first when she played in this event last year as well. She was also the only player to finish under par!<\/p>\r\n

Kentucky Series at Gibson Bay Golf Course<\/b><\/h3>\r\n

Prep Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

To take home first place, Kasey Cameron<\/strong> (Richmond, KY 2024) scored a 78 (+6) at the Kentucky Series at Gibson Bay Golf Course. Cameron was able to secure her spot in first by three strokes! As the course where she first took first place at a PKB event two seasons ago, Cameron was ready and willing to take home the hardware.<\/p>\r\n

Futures Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Charlize Garner <\/b>(Louisville, KY 2025) took home the championship trophy at the Kentucky Series at Gibson Bay Golf Course. With an astounding seven birdies on her scorecard, she ended the round with a score of 69 (-3). As the only person to finish under par, Garner scored the most birdies in the tournament!<\/p>\r\n

Discovery Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Carol Ann Mendenhall<\/strong> (Nicholasville, KY 2029) took first place with a score of 37 (+1) at the Kentucky Series at Gibson Bay Golf Course. With three birdies, she was able to seize first by two strokes. This win has helped keep her streak of taking first that she’s held over now five tournaments since 2020.<\/p>\r\n

Upcoming Events<\/h2>\r\n

Our next upcoming event is the Georgia Series at Henderson Golf Club, which will be held on Monday, June 13. Tee times will begin at 9:00 A.M. This coming Wednesday and Thursday, June 15-16, will be the PKBGT\/NB3 Southern Texas Qualifier at the Clubs of Kingwood on the Lake Course. Tee times for this event will start at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday. This weekend, we have two Regional events and one National taking place. The two Regional tournaments taking place this Saturday, June 18, are the South Carolina Series at the Country Club of South Carolina and the Delaware Valley Series at Walnut Lane. The South Carolina Series event’s tee times will begin at 12:30 P.M., and the Delaware Valley Series event’s tee times will begin at 1:00 P.M. Our National event over the weekend of June 18-19 is the Valley Junior Girls Open at Hunting Hills Country Club. Tee times will begin at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 18.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

About the PKBGT<\/h2>\r\n

Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls\u2019 golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player\u2019s pace.
