Phoenix, MD-<\/b> The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> opened play at the Terrapin Girls Classic at Hunt Valley Country Club in Phoenix, Maryland. Hunt Valley, tabbed as the preeminent country club experience in Baltimore, hosts the first mid-week National event this summer. Nine states were represented between the two divisions.<\/i><\/p>\n

Bell National<\/h2>\n

It could be anyone from the top five in the Bell Division to hoist the trophy on Thursday afternoon with five players within striking distance of Katie Park<\/strong> (Fairfax, VA 2022) after an opening round of 71 (-1). Park took home medalist honors on Saturday at Lake Chesin in the PKBGT Prep Middle Atlantic Series. Katie carded two birdies, fifteen pars, and one bogey during round one.<\/p>\n

Vincenza “Vinny” Papa\u00a0<\/b>(Foster, RI 2026) finds herself in familiar territory holding another overnight lead after firing an opening-round 73 (+1) on Wednesday at Hunt Valley Country Club. Papa, sporting a new flatstick, made five birdies on the day, including back-to-back birds to start her second nine. She holds a one-shot lead over Lilly Hall<\/strong> (Yorktown, VA 2024).<\/p>\n

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.\u00a0 The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
