On Sunday, June 2, the 2019<\/span> Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/span><\/a> played the final round of the<\/span> Central Florida Series Girls Classic<\/span><\/a> at LPGA International Golf Club in Daytona Beach, FL. The PKBGT is excited to be working in partnership with<\/span> Insurance Office of America <\/span><\/a>as the presenting sponsor of the series for the second year in a row!<\/span><\/p>\n

These PKBGT regional events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. <\/span>The PKBGT Series Progression<\/span><\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prep Division<\/b><\/h2>\n

Bringing home the trophy in the Prep Division was <\/span>Annabelle Mozingo <\/b>(Jacksonville, FL 2022)! Mozingo finished the tournament with a total score of 83, 78 = 161 (+17). Finishing runner-up with a two-day score of 83, 79 = 162 (+18) was <\/span>Hannah Jonely <\/b>(Ashburn, VA 2020). In third place, finishing with a two-day score of 85, 84 = 169 (+25), was <\/span>Sarah Fox <\/b>(Lakeland, FL 2021)<\/span><\/p>\n

Futures Division<\/b><\/h2>\n

In the Futures Division, <\/span>Abigail Fernandez <\/b>(Windermere, FL 2023) took home the championship after posting a two-day score of 83, 82 = 165 (+21). In second place was <\/span>Morgan Stephens <\/b>(Sanford, FL 2020) who finished the tournament with a score of 86, 87 = 173 (+29).<\/span><\/p>\n

Chloe Browning <\/b>(Oviedo, FL 2021) closed out the Futures Division in third place. She finished with a two-day total score of 116, 104 = 220 (+76). <\/span><\/p>\n

Discovery Division<\/b><\/h2>\n

In the Discovery Division, <\/span>Brynn Pressimone <\/b>(Longwood, FL 2025) topped the leaderboard with a weekend total of 41, 44 = 85 (+13). She brought home the victory by winning a tiebreaker playoff hole! \u00a0<\/span>Kelsey Douglas <\/b>(Orlando, FL 2027) came in second place, also finishing with a two-day score of 43, 42 = 85 (+13). She fell just short in the tiebreaker playoff, earning runner-up honors! <\/span><\/p>\n

Finishing in third place, <\/span>Riley Fletcher <\/b>(Winter Springs, FL 2025)<\/span> finished with a weekend total of 45, 43 = 88 (+16). Closing out the top five, in a two-way tie for fourth place, was <\/span>Haley Plumley <\/b>(Maitland, FL 2026) and <\/span>Madison Dusenbury <\/b>(Deland, FL 2028). Both players finished with two-day scores of 94 (+22).<\/span><\/p>\n

About the PKBGT Regional Series<\/b><\/h2>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget into the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The Central Florida Regional Series is part of the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour.<\/span><\/p>\n
