From the scenic views of Myrtle Beach to the spine-chilling winds of Chicago, our PKBGT alumni competed in tournaments across the country this week. It’s hard to believe that, for some teams, the fall season is winding down! Others are just getting into the thick of things and starting to get into a groove. We continue our weekly #ThrowbackThursday College Roundup Series with the results of tournaments held from September 28 to October 4.
Harrold takes home the South Regional Preview title
The lone individual winner out of our PKBGT alumni competing in tournaments this week, Haverly Harrold (Kingsport, TN 2016) of Division II Lee University posted rounds of 71, 72 and 75 for a final score of 218 (+2) to win the NCAA South Super Regional Preview.
“To play on my home course was so much fun and the support of our school and the community was unreal and a blessing to be a part,” noted Harrold who competed against some of the best players at Cleveland Country Club where Lee University plays their home matches. Her outstanding performance helped lead the Lady Flames to a second place finish and was her second top-2 performance this season.
Division I
Schooner Fall Classic (Oklahoma University, Sep. 28-30)
This week’s top finisher in Division I comes in the form of a second place finish from Lauren Stephenson (Lexington, SC 2015). Stephenson’s Alabama squad took home the team title in Norman, Oklahoma after she finished -14 for the tournament. This week tops her previous T15 performance at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, and it looks like Stephenson is finding her rhythm on the course.
