#ThrowbackThursday College (and Professional) Roundup: October 19-25

With only a few tournaments left, our collegiate competitors are getting their last swings in before the fall season comes to a close. From the chilly autumn winds of Rehoboth Beach to mid-70’s and sun in Stanford, the PKBGT alumni were heavily represented this past week.

Meanwhile in Pinehurst, the first leg of Q-Series is underway and eight PKB alumni are in the running to earn their 2019 LPGA membership.

Division I

Palmetto Intercollegiate (College of Charleston, Oct. 21-23)

Locked in a dead heat atop the leaderboard in Kiawah Island, two PKBGT alumni finished T1 at the tournament hosted by the College of Charleston. Victoria Huskey (Greenville, SC 2016) and Emily Hawkins (Lexington, NC 2018) finished the event with final scores of -4 in their final competitions of the fall season. Huskey’s College of Charleston squad topped Hawkins’ Campbell University for the team championship.

Lady Blue Hen Invitational (University of Delaware, Oct. 20-21)

Win for the win! You read that correctly, Lizzie Win (Sylvania, OH 2016) of Seton Hall brought home the individual medal honors at Rehoboth Beach CC. Win’s teammate Madeline Sager finished just behind in 4th place as the Pirates won the team championship in their final tournament of the fall season.

Division II

Converse Fall Invitational (Converse College, Oct. 22-23)

PKB Alumni from several schools throughout the area came together in Spartanburg, SC at Carolina Country Club for one of the final D2 events of the season! Coker’s Bella Harris (Greenville, SC 2015) finished the highest of all alumni at T2 leading her team to the overall championship. Abbey Hartsell (Hickory, NC 2015) of Lenoir Rhyne was one spot behind at T3 and host team’s Grace Magera (Simpsonville, SC 2015) finished T4.

Division III and NAIA

It was a quiet week in there divisions, and the top performance came from Natalie Hill (Smithfield, NC 2018) of Shenandoah who finished T6 at the Mount Vernon Invitational. Jordan Koller (Brookeville, MD 2018) closed out her fall season at the Chick-Fil-A Collegiate Invitational at Berry College.

 

Bonus: LPGA Qualifying Tournament

 

The Symetra Tour’s Q-Series kicked off at Pinehurst Resort this week. The following PKBGT Alumni are in the competition:

The first leg of Q-Series is played from October 24-27 at Pinehurst No. 6 and the second leg will take place on Pinehurst No. 7 from October 31-November 3.
