This Week in PKBGT (May 25)

The Regional Trifecta

North Carolina Series Open at Forest Oaks Country Club

Prep Series

Sanaa Carter (Jacksonville, NC 2025) came back in the second round by jumping from fifth place to taking home the championship trophy in the North Carolina Series Open at Forest Oaks Country Club! Carter fired rounds of 76 (+4) and 74 (+2) this past weekend for a two-day score of 150. She also consistently scored 3 birdies during each round!

Futures Series

Camiryn Jackson (Altamonte Springs, FL 2028) continued to carry her spot in first throughout the last round at Forest Oaks, finishing the tournament with a two-day score of 71, 76 = 147 (+3). Scoring one under par in Round 1 helped secure her win since her Round 2 score matched that of the runner-up, Kelsey Jones (Holly Springs, NC 2025). As the only player from Florida at this event, this was Jackson’s second time taking first in a PKB event!

Discovery Series

Adelyn Rosado (Mount Pleasant, SC 2030) was the only player at the North Carolina Series Open at Forest Oaks whose two-day score was under par! She took home the championship hardware with a two-day score of 34, 32 = 66 (-6). Rosado has a bright future ahead of her at PKB, seeing as this is only her second season here!

Middle Atlantic Series at Augustine Golf Club

Prep Series

Makayla Grubb (Stafford, VA 2025) scored a 73 (+1), securing her place in first by seven strokes. The course was challenging, as was the hot weather, and Grubb accepted the challenge head on. Grubb’s first event with PKB was at Augustine Golf Club back in 2017 in which she was the victor, so it seems fitting for her to leave the Middle Atlantic Series at Augustine Golf Club as a champion once again.

Futures Series

Aspen Bikowski (White Plains, MD 2027) took home the championship trophy at the Middle Atlantic Series at Augustine Golf Club with a score of 77 (+5). This was Bikowski’s first time taking first place at a PKB tournament! Overall, the scores were close between the Futures Series players, so Bikowski’s three birdies helped ensure her spot in first.

Discovery Series

Jasmine Limm (Chesterfield, VA 2028) played a great round, scoring a 34 (-2) at the Middle Atlantic Series at Augustine Golf Club. Similar to the winner of the Discovery Series at Forest Oaks, Limm was the only player to finish the tournament under par. This was also Limm’s first PKB event, so this tournament was a great start to her time with us!

Kentucky Series at Kearney Hills Golf Links

Prep Series

Although the Kentucky Series at Kearney Hills Golf Links got cut short because of weather, Kariann Campbell (Nicholasville, KY 2024) found the time to take first place. Campbell scored a 37 (+1) on the back nine holes, which was all the Prep Series Players were able to get to. Despite the inclement weather stopping the tournament halfway through, Campbell was able to make first place at her first event with PKB!

Futures Series

Riley Jarrell (Louisville, KY 2024) took home the championship trophy with a score of 40 (+5) at the Kentucky Series at Kearney Hills Golf Links. Players in the Futures Series played from Hole 7 to Hole 15 due to the harsh weather, but all players persevered through those nine holes. All scores from the 19 Futures players were within 21 strokes of each other.

Discovery Series

Emerson Bowling (Frankfort, KY 2028) scored a 39 (+3) regardless of the weather. All Discovery Series players were able to play in their typical fashion of the front nine holes. Bowling’s two birdies aided in clinching her spot in first at the Kentucky Series at Kearney Hills Golf Links.

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2022 season will feature over 138 tournaments in 12+ states and with over 1,000 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.  Learn more about the PKBGT at http://www.pkbgt.org/.
