Introducing the 2019 PKBGT Spring Invitational

The PKBGT is excited to announce the 2019 PKBGT Spring Invitational, a 36-hole Championship event held at the Links at Stoney Point in Greenwood, South Carolina.

The Links at Stoney Point hosted the LPGA Symetra Tour Women’s Health Classic the last 4 years, one of the most lucrative events on the Symetra Tour each year.  In 2018, the PKBGT partnered with the event to host the Women’s Health Classic Junior Challenge, a 6 event junior series to qualify one junior golfer to compete in the 2018 professional event.  Kayla Smith (2019, Burlington, NC) claimed the victory and earned a Sponsor Exemption into the 2018 professional event.

New for 2019, the PKBGT event will be transformed into the PKBGT Spring Invitational with elite competitions in all three of our national divisions, Bell National, Prep Preview and Futures National.  The Bell National field will include 36 players and with its exclusive field, will provide enhanced rankings opportunities through the PKBGT Performance Index & Bell National Order of Merit Races (2.5 multiplier) and AJGA Performance Stars (12 stars to the champion and additional stars for the Top 10 finishers).  The Prep Preview & Futures National fields will also feature enhanced rankings for the PKBGT Index & AJGA PBE.  Click here for more information on all the rankings partnerships included with this event.

Players in the field will be granted acceptance by invitation only and can earn their spots in the field thru the following paths:

TIER 1 – Top 30 players on the Bell National Series Order of Merit, Top 22 players on the Prep Preview Series Order of Merit, and the Top 20 players on the Futures National Series Order of Merit standings at the conclusion of the RocketTour Players Championship on February 17, 2019.  Players may increase their status on these lists by finishes in events on each Series this Winter.  A full schedule of PKBGT events is located at http://www.pkbgt.org/schedule.php.

TIER 2 – Bell National Champion of the River Run Girls Classic and the Bell National, Prep Preview & Futures National Champions of the Tar Heel Classic

TIER 3 – 1 Sponsor Exemption for each division

TIER 4 – Remaining field will be completed from the Spring Invitational Application List.  Players must apply for consideration by Monday, February 18th at midnight to be considered for one of these spots.  Bell National Series Field will feature 36 players, Prep Preview 24 players and Futures National 24 players

We look forward to a great tournament and watching the elite competition return to the Links at Stoney Point in March 2019.
