PKBGT TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP: Moosa is golden

On Sunday, September 16, the 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the PKBGT TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP @ Ocean Ridge Plantation (Lion’s Paw Golf Links). Ocean Ridge Plantation (Lion’s Paw Golf Links) proved a challenging course for this two-day event. The event featured a field of 57 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.

Madison Moosa (Charlotte, NC 2017) wins PKBGT TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP @ Ocean Ridge Plantation (Lion’s Paw Golf Links) and is fourth player to be named golden in 2012!

In the Bell Division, there was a record breaking eight hole playoff between Moosa who shot 77 + 78 = 155 and Cecily Overbey (High Point, NC 2014) who shot 76 + 79 = 155. Moosa edged out Overbey with a par on the eighth playoff hole. Delaney Shah (North Potomac, MD 2016) shot 80 + 78 = 158 to place third, Emily Stinson (Charlotte, NC 2013) shot 79 + 79 = 158 to place fourth, and Annika Bovender (Mount Pleasant, SC 2015) shot 79 + 80 = 159 to place fifth. All five girls will receive an invitation to PKBGT Invitational @ Grandover Resort (East Course) in November.

In the Futures Division, Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) carded six over par with a score of 78 to place first with 75 + 78 = 153. As the Futures Division Tour Champion, Wotnosky will receive an invitation to PKBGT Invitational @ Grandover Resort (East Course) in November. Naomi Mitchell (Norfolk, VA 2018) carded three over par with a score of 75 to place second with 81 + 75 = 156. Emilia Migliaccio (Cary, NC 2017) carded two over par with a score of 74 to place third with 83 + 74 = 157.

PKBGT returns Saturday-Sunday, September 29-30 with the MIDATLANTIC Invitational Qualifier @ Lakeview GC in Harrisonburg, VA. This is the first invitational qualifier of the season, bringing together players from across Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
