Notah Begay III Jr Golf National Championship partners with Peggy Kirk Bell Golf Tour to announce first ever televised All Girls National Championship

This groundbreaking partnership between NB3 JGNC and the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour will provide a platform that has never been done before for women’s golf. The all-new girls PKBGT/NB3 Girls Golf National Championship will be televised on Golf Channel. And will bring more opportunities to the young, aspiring female golfers to make their dreams become a reality.

The NB3 JGNC, currently entering its 3rd year, is a two-stage qualifying process that culminates in a 54-hole National Championship that is televised for a 2-hour show on Golf Channel. With years one and two a major success, Notah Begay III wanted to figure out how his series could grow even bigger and provide more to all the junior golfers who are trying to make it at the next level.

“It definitely has been a big undertaking, but we could not be more excited to introduce this unique partnership and all girl’s championship to the junior golf circuit,” said Notah Begay III, founder of the NB3 Foundation, four-time PGA TOUR winner and NBC Sports broadcaster.

The PKBGT has solidified themselves as the premier “Girls Only Tour” that actively increases participation and interest in girl’s golf throughout the country. Their mission is to provide a venue for aspiring collegiate golfers to help them develop, compete, and be recognized throughout affordable, top-level tournament competition.

“PKBGT’s specific focus on girl’s development in partnership with the LPGA Foundation made it a no brainer of a partnership as we have a strong relationship with the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf movement already” explains Notah Begay III. “Our mission aligns well with both organizations, and we feel this will be a partnership that will change the junior golf landscape for the better and continue to bring unparalleled opportunities to the girls golf community!”

The 2021 series featured just over 700 girls competing across 21 regional locations. Through the partnership with the PKBGT, capacity for girls’ participation will increase twofold with increased field sizes at both the regional qualification and national championship, including 13 girls-only regionals across the country.

“The PKBGT is excited to partner with the NB3 series to grow more competitive golf opportunities for the girls” said Mike Parker, tour director of the PKBGT. “Joining together for this National Championship Series will expand the exposure and reach for girls across the country and we are excited to host the inaugural girls-only championship in November 2022!”

Beginning in 2022, NB3 JGNC and PKBGT will have events specifically for boys and girls, offering more spots to the National Championship which means more exposure on Golf Channel. There are no rankings, points, membership fees or requirements to register, players simply must have an interest in competing and can find a Qualifier near them to register. Peggy Kirk Bell Golf Tour:

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina. The Tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the Tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2022 season will feature over 130 tournaments in 10 states on the East Coast, and with over 1,200 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only Tour in the country.
