PKBGT Open Championship at CC of Salisbury displays great girls’ golf talent
Anderson and Nguyen at the top with 72
Salisbury,NC – The Open Championship is off to a smashing start as long knocker Lyberty Anderson of Chesterfield, Va and course tactician, Bryana Nguyen of Columbia, MD lead by one shot with 72.
The classic Donald Ross design of Salisbury suits many golfers’ styles, but few players contrast in their style of play more Nguyen and Anderson.
Nguyen is known for her consistent play varying little in her scores throughout events while Anderson has a bit of that Seve swashbuckler attitude making each shot less of a direct route and more of a journey.
Nonetheless, the two are great friends off the course as well, and will now find themselves hanging out on the links for tomorrow’s action with a one shot advantage over the field.
Following, the leaders are Emiley Pagrabs of Wilmington, NC at 73, Sarah Bae of Raleigh, NC with 74 (last year’s champion) and Allyson Markiewicz of Charlotte, NC at 75.
The Futures division is led by the Spicer girls, as Sarah Spicer of Bahama, NC leads her sister by one shot after posting a solid four over par 75 on the day.
