Simmons Claims Longleaf Open with a 73!

Southern Pines, NC – The PKB Girls were golfing again this Sunday at Longleaf GC. Many of the girls will revisit this course for their high school season ending state championships in a couple of weeks.

Taking home the PKB First place trophy this week was Tara Simmons of Goldsboro, NC who posted a great round of 73 to win by four shots over Emily Brooks of Chapel Hill, NC (77).

Simmons round consisted of steady play the whole day with only three bogeys and one birdie.

“ It was a really consistent round today and I would like to carry my good play into states. It would be really sweet to hang a banner in our school gym J, “ stated the champ after the round.

Following these girls were Mary – Katelyn Holanek of Cary, NC, Eden Howard of Lamar, SC and Taylor Penzer of Summerfield, NC all with scores of 78.
