Asheboro, NC — The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour began its first event of the summer today and twelth of the year as Pinewood CC hosted the Pinewood Open.
The course, known for its rollercoaster holes and slippery back to front sloped greens, were a big test for many of the girls, but Sara Moir of Roanoke, VA found the course to be just great posting a swell 36-36 even par round of 72.
Moir’s round consisted of three birdies with two of them on eight and nine ingniting a flame that continued to burn all through the back nine. Her even par performance earned her a four shot victory and the first of her PKB career.
Following Moir in the Bell Division were Sarah Spicer of Bahama, NC at 76, Jessica Spicer of Bahama, NC at 78, Rachel Jones of Ashevoro, NC at 78, and Ashlii Thompson of Browns Summit, NC at 79.
The Futures division featured a one hole playoff as Kate Collom of Davidson, NC defeated Shannon Paylor of Greensboro, NC with a par on the first playoff hole. The two girls tied in regular play as they posted 80.
