One-Day Open Series @ Spring Valley CC Event Preview

The 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour tees off Thursday, June 21 at the One-Day Open Series @ Spring Valley CC. Spring Valley CC, site of the 2012 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship Sectional Qualifier, is a challenging course for this one-day event. The event features a field of 27 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.

The Bell Division field features 13 golfers, highlighted by two of the top 25 players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Kelsey Badmaev (Blythewood, SC 2013) in 13th position and Reona Hirai (Summerville, SC 2014) in 21st position. Also, Elizabeth Rand (Asheville, NC 2013) will be playing her first event as a Bell Division player.

The Futures Division field features 14 golfers, highlighted by three of the top 30 players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Katie Turk (Blacksburg, VA 2015) in 8th position, Callista Rice (Mars Hill, NC 2017) in 17th position and Maegan Ports (Charlotte, NC 2013) in 29th position. There are several new players to the tour this season, including: Taylor Bunten (Concord, NC 2014).

The One-Day Open Series @ Spring Valley CC is the fourth one-day event of the season, bringing together the top players from the Carolinas and Virginia. It should be an exciting & challenging event.
