One-Day Open Series @ Forest Oaks CC Event Preview

The 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour tees off Thursday, July 5 at the One-Day Open Series @ Forest Oaks CC. Forest Oaks CC is a challenging course for this one-day event. The event features a field of 37 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.

The Bell Division field features 15 golfers, highlighted by three of the top 30 players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Ashlii Thompson (Browns Summitt, NC 2013) in 9th position, Jessica Spicer (Bahama, NC 2016) in 23rd position, and Sarah Spicer (Bahama, NC 2016) in 26th position.There are several new players to the tour this season, including: Morgan Brock (High Point, NC 2013), LeAnn Domitrovits (New Bern, NC 2015), and Shannon Paylor (Greensboro, NC 2013).

The Futures Division field features 22 golfers, highlighted by three of the top 30 players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Savannah Gowarty (Raleigh, NC 2015) in 10th position, Holly McCann (Raleigh, NC 2019) in 18th position, and Janie Thomas (Winston-Salem, NC 2016) in 23rd position. There are several new players to the tour this season, including: Morgan Laird (Waxhaw, NC 2015) Devin Moore (Statesville, NC 2014).

The One-Day Open Series @ Forest Oaks CC is the fifth one-day event of the season, bringing together the top players from the Carolinas and Virginia. It should be an exciting & challenging event.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
