Greensboro, North Carolina – Girls Golf of America announces that the Peggy Kirk Bell Golf Tour (PKBGT) and the 16th PKBGT Invitational is a grant recipient from the North Carolina Youth Outdoor Engagement Commission (NC YOEC). The NC YOEC awarded Girls Golf of America $25,000 toward our 16th PKBGT Invitational at Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, NC.
“The North Carolina Youth Outdoor Engagement Commission awarded Girls Golf of America $25,000 toward their Wilmington, NC event. NC YOEC’s mission is to connect young North Carolinians with opportunities to engage with the outdoors. The North Carolina General Assembly appropriates funding to NC YOEC (a state agency) to contribute toward their mission through programming efforts, outreach, and grants.
This past year, the Youth Sports Grant, provided schools and non-professional sports teams and associations with the opportunity to receive funding toward travel or host grants. Girls Golf of America received a host Youth Sports Grant for $25,000 – the maximum amount of funding available to a singular event.” – Megan Law, Communications Manager at the N.C. Youth Outdoor Engagement Commission.
The PKBGT is set to host their 16th Invitational at The Country Club of Landfall on November 9-11. The PKBGT Invitational is the most prestigious event on the PKBGT schedule that annually boasts a top-20 field in the country! Past champions include professional players such as Katherine Perry Hamski, Lucia Polo as well as top current collegiate players and amateurs Rachel Kuehn, Emilia Migliaccio, Amanda Sambach, and Anna Morgan.
In 2024, the event will be hosted at a new venue: The Country Club of Landfall. Each October, the course hosts the Landfall Tradition which is one of the top women’s collegiate events in the nation! With the Invitational being played just a couple weeks after the Landfall Tradition, the top junior players will get to compete and showcase their skills on a collegiate set-up helping prepare them for the future!
Girls Golf of America continues to create opportunities for girls in competitive golf and has received their third grant within the past two months. Girls Golf of America has seen continued growth and support the past year paving the way to establish more grants for players, additional resources for families entering golf, and help enhance and expand the PKBGT. The 2024 year will closeout with Giving Tuesday where Girls Golf of America will look to collaborate with organizations and individuals that believe in their mission through the #ElevateHerGame campaign.
“Receiving this $25,000 grant from the NC YOEC is an incredible win for our organizations. This grant will help elevate the 16th PKBGT Invitational to create an unforgettable experience for our players and families. We can’t thank them enough for their support of our event and believing in our mission to create equity of opportunity for junior girls in competitive golf.” (Christian “CJ” Johnston, Development Manager)

The Tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the Tour focuses on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2024-2025 season will feature over 140 tournaments across the country including over 2,500 girls, as the PKBGT remains the largest girls-only junior golf tour in the country.
