Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour and Girls Golf of America Announce New Mentorship Program: Fore Her Success
PKBGT Alumna and Girls Golf of America Board Member Emilia Migliaccio Doran to Lead Initiative Empowering Junior Girl Golfers
Greensboro, North Carolina – March 24, 2025 – The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour (PKBGT) and Girls Golf of America (GGA) are thrilled to continue their mission of being “more than a golf tournament” by announcing the launch of the Fore Her Success: PKB Mentorship Program, a transformative initiative designed to empower, educate, and inspire the next generation of junior girls golfers. The program will be spearheaded by PKBGT alumna and GGA board member, Emilia Migliaccio Doran.
Fore Her Success aims to connect high-level junior girls golfers with experienced mentors who will provide guidance on both golf and personal development. Through one-on-one mentorship, career insights, and leadership training, the program will cultivate confidence and ambition among participants, reinforcing the core mission of PKBGT and GGA to foster growth and opportunity for junior girls in golf.
“I strongly believe in the value of mentorship in creating successful young leaders,” said Emilia Doran. “Golf is a complicated sport where you’re learning every day, so having a mentor who has walked in their shoes, I believe, is super impactful for the players’ success.”
The mentorship program will be open to select PKBGT members in a pilot series this spring, then a full launch for all PKBGT members in the fall of 2025. Mentors will include accomplished PKBGT alumnae, collegiate players, and professionals, offering mentees valuable perspectives on collegiate recruitment, competitive play, career paths in the golf industry, and life beyond the course. These initial mentors include: Emilia Doran, Rachel Kuehn, Gina Lee, Macy Pate, Amanda Sambach, and Madison Moosa.
“My biggest goal for this mentorship program is to give these girls the opportunity to learn from successful young women relatively close to their age who have walked a similar path in golf,” said Emilia Doran. “I want these girls to use their mentors as a sounding board for goal setting, recruiting tips, the mental side of golf, the college experience, and even networking in golf. The bonus to this program is the ability to forge special connections between the young PKB players and the women that came before them.”
“As the nation’s largest girls-only golf tour, we recognize the importance of fostering a supportive network for our players,” said Mike Parker, Tour Director of PKBGT and Executive Director of GGA. “Fore Her Success will be a game-changer, providing invaluable guidance to aspiring junior girls golfers as they navigate their athletic and professional journeys.”
Girls Golf of America, a nonprofit dedicated to creating equity of opportunities for girls in competitive golf, will play an integral role in supporting the program’s outreach and curriculum. “We are thrilled to have board member Emilia Doran partner on this initiative to provide girls with mentorship opportunities that will help them succeed both on and off the course,” said Christian ‘CJ’ Johnston, Development Manager.
“I couldn’t be more excited to kick off this mentorship program and see its impact, not only on the girls’ success in golf, but also the relationships developed and their growth as a person as they move towards college,” said Emilia Doran.
The program is set to launch this month with a pilot series of selected PKBGT members, and then applications opening for both mentors and mentees in the fall of 2025. For more information, visit www.girlsgolfofamerica.org/forehersuccess.
