Recap: Delaware Valley Series Finale, Storie Order of Merit Champions

Pottstown, PAThe Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded it’s Delaware Valley Regional Series in partnership with Women’s Golf Give Back at Raven’s Claw Golf Club on Saturday. Raven’s Claw Golf Club, a host of the LPGA Symetra Tour’s Valley Forge Invitational, welcomed the regions PKBGT tour members of the greater Philadelphia area to one of Golf Digest’s “Top New Courses” for the series finale.

In the Prep Division, Mary Grace Dunigan (Kennett Square, PA 2023) and Kayla Maletto (Sinking Springs, PA 2024) fired impressive rounds of 75 (+4) to tie for low medalist honors at the series finale. Dunigan carded three birdies on the day, and Maletto added two to her name. Winning in a sudden-death playoff was Mary Grace Dunigan. Clare Gimpel (Lafayette Hill, PA 2021) rounded out the top three with a round of 79 (+8).

In the Futures Division, Kate Roberts (Phoenixville, PA 2024) ran away with a four-shot victory thanks to her round of 80 (+9), which included a birdie on the par-four fourth. Just like her older sister Serena, Kiran Bagga (Blue Bell, PA 2024) found success at Raven’s Claw finishing runner-up with a round of 84 (+13). Lucy Barton (Newton, NJ 2023) ended with the bronze after her round of 85 (+14).

In the Discovery Division, Savannah Laverty (Moorestown, NJ 2027) captured gold after her round of 40 (+4). This is Laverty’s second victory on the circuit in a row. In the three events she played, the Moorestown, NJ native finished second, first and first. Two were tied for second after rounds of 42 (+6). Lily Kochersperger (Kennett Square, PA 2026) bested Juliana Ishii (Cockeysville, MD 2027) with a par on the ninth hole to take home the second-place medal.

– Delaware Valley Series Storie Apparel Order of Merit Final Standings –

Kayla Maletto (Sinking Springs, PA 2024) finished first in the Prep Delaware Valley Order of Merit rankings after an outstanding season where she placed in all four events on the circuit that she played in! Maletto won medalist honors at Tanglewood Manor and the Manor Golf Club with rounds of 77 (+5) and nearly won her final event at Raven’s Claw before losing in a playoff. Maletto’s scoring average over her four events was 77.

Avery McCrery (Wilmington, DE 2025) dominated the Futures Delaware Valley, and it showed on the Order of Merit rankings as well. McCrery competed in five events over six rounds. Of those five events, she won medalist honors in four of the events with a scoring average of 78.83. The Wilmington, DE native won the WGAP Girls at Sandy Run Country Club, Tanglewood Manor, WGAP Rita Cooper Cup at Bala Golf Club, and Manor Golf Club.

Bryn Krosse (York, PA 2030) carded four top-five finishes plus won medalist honors at Manor Golf Club with a round of 39 (+3). Talk about a strong season! One of the youngest competitors on the Discovery circuit, put together quite the resume over her seven rounds in six events played on the Delaware Valley Regional Series.

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
