On Sunday, July 1, the 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the Bash at the Bay @ Kingsmill Resort on the Woods Course. Kingsmill Resort, home of the 2012 LPGA Kingsmill Championship, proved a challenging course for the final day of this two-day event. The event features a field of 44 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.
In the Bell Division, Elizabeth Bose (Norfolk, VA 2015) carded four over par with a score of 76 to place first with 76 + 76 = 152. When asked about her win at Kingsmill, Bose said, “It was a really fun weekend. Both courses were great and I really enjoyed playing at Kingsmill.” Lauren Kruszewski (Chesapeake, VA 2013) carded 10 over par with a score of 82 to place second with 78 + 82 = 160. Allison Cooper (Harrisburg, PA 2015) carded nine over par with a score of 81 to place third with 79 + 81 = 160.
In the Futures Division, Holly McCann (Raleigh, NC 2019) carded 10 over par with a score of 82 to place first with 81 + 82 = 163. Scotti McGowan (Southern Pines, NC 2015) carded 12 over par with a score of 84 to place second with 81 + 84 = 165. Katie Turk (Blacksburg, VA 2015) carded 15 over par with a score of 87 to place third with 80 + 87 = 167.
PKBGT returns Thursday, July 5 with the One-Day Open Series @ Forest Oaks CC in Greensboro, NC. It should be an exciting & challenging event.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
