Boars Head Inn Classic @ Birdwood CC Preview

The 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour tees off Monday-Tuesday, July 30-31 at the Boar’s Head Inn Classic @ Birdwood CC at UVA. Birdwood CC at UVA, home of the University of Virginia Cavaliers men’s and women’s golf teams, is a challenging course for this two-day series. The event features a field of 23 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.

The Bell Division field features 18 golfers, highlighted by four of the top 25 players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Lyberty Anderson (Chesterfield, VA 2014) in 7th position, Sarah Spicer (Bahama, NC 2016) in 15th position, Jessica Spicer (Bahama, NC 2016) in 23rd position, and Victoria Allred (Pfafftown, NC 2014) in 25th position. will be playing her first tournament as a Bell Division player.

The Futures Division field features 5 golfers, highlighted by three of the top 45 players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Savannah Gowarty (Raleigh, NC 2015)  in 9th position, Taylor Harris (Prince George, VA 2013) in 35th position, and Casey Gaffney (Chesterfield, VA 2014) in 44th position.

The Boar’s Head Inn Classic @ Birdwood CC at UVA brings together the top players from North Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia. It should be an exciting & challenging event.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
