Bertram, Elias win One-Day Open Series @ Salem Glen

On Sunday, August 26, the 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the One-Day Open Series @ Salem Glen Golf & CC. Salem Glen Golf & CC proved a challenging course for this one-day event. The event features a field of 32 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.

In the Bell Division, Sarah Bertram (Concord, NC 2013) carded six over par with a score of 77 to win the tournament. When asked about her first win in 2012, Bertram responded, “It feels very humbling to win because I’ve put so much work into my game. Since I had a bad front nine, I wasn’t expecting to win.” Alexis Kershaw (Winston-Salem, NC 2014) carded seven over with a score of 78 to place second and Megan Munroe (Raeford, NC 2016) carded nine over with a score of 80 to place third.

In the Futures Division, Joliana Elias (Jamestown, NC 2015) carded six over par with a score of 77 to win the tournament. Brittany Smith (Stanley, NC 2013) seven over with a score of 77 to place second and Katie Turk (Blacksburg, VA 2015) carded carded 10 over with a score of 81 to place third.
