On November 17-18, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour’s top young talent will gather at the Arthur Hills Course of the Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort in Hilton Head Island, SC for the 2018 Discovery Invitational.
The inaugural event will feature girls ages 9-12 and will be split into two divisions. The Championship Division who will play a full 18 holes each day at 5,000 yards, and the Sub-Junior Division who will play nine holes each day at 1,800 yards.
Championship Division
Gracie Song (Waxhaw, NC 2026) is the youngest competitor in the 14 player Championship Division at 10 years old. Song brought home three wins on the tour in the 2018 season and frequented the top three in both the North Carolina and South Carolina Discovery Series. Her top score came at the South Carolina One-Day Series at the Windermere Club where she shot 34 (-2).
Madison Lehr (Mechanicsville, VA 2024) kicks off her 2019 season after winning the North Carolina Discovery Order of Merit championship last year. In her highly successful 2018, Lehr won tournaments on three separate occasions including a season best 34 (-2) in the Middle Atlantic One-Day Series at The Hollows.
Madison Dial (High Point, NC 2025) completed the first 18-hole round of her PKBGT career in the Last Chance Qualifier at Bermuda Run Country Club (West). On the North Carolina Discovery Series last season, Dial never finished outside of the top five and showcased her talents in a first place finish to open the season in the North Carolina One-Day Series at Monroe Country Club.
Sub-Junior Division
Landry Hamm (Charlotte, NC 2027) is the youngest player out of all competitors this weekend at only nine years old! Competing in the five player Sub-Junior series, Hamm’s 2018 season featured tournaments in both the North Carolina and South Carolina Discovery Series. Her top two performances came on the South Carolina One-Day Series at Spring Valley CC in June and The Windermere Club in July with second place finishes.
Alexandra Kennedy (Arden, NC 2026) begins her third season with the PKBGT. Her 2018 season included a seventh place finish at the North Carolina One-Day Series at Bermuda Run Country Club (West). She looks to jump out to a great start in her 2019 campaign in Hilton Head this weekend!
Bretton Mackiewicz (Longwood, FL 2025) travels north to the Palmetto Dunes Resort to compete in her first discovery event outside of the Discovery Florida Series. She ranks seventh on the Discovery Florida Series Order of Merit and finished inside the top five in each of her three events last season. Her top performance came in a second place finish at the Central Florida One-Day Series at Eagle Creek GC.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
