Preview: PKBGT/CGA Vicki DiSantis Qualifier at Green Valley CC

The PKBGT is back in action at Green Valley CC in Greenville, SC with the second PKBGT/CGA Vicki DiSantis Qualifier.  On March 31, 2018 the PKBGT will have a field of 46 girls as they tackle the course at 5,724 yards in the Preview division. This tournament is the second of two qualifiers. The top-17 finishers and ties will qualify for spots in the 2018 CGA Vicki DiSantis Girls’ Championship, May 12-13, at Pine Island CC in Charlotte, NC.

The field features 46 players from North and South Carolina. Featured players are Molly Hardwick (Lexington, SC 2022), Chloe Holder (Williamston, SC 2021), Katelyn Lee (Easley, SC 2020), Jordan Guyton (Columbia, SC 2019) and Kennedy McGaha (Honea Path, SC 2021). Molly is currently 18th on the Prep Preview Order of Merit and finished top-3 at the Orange Whip Classic at Clemson and the Palmetto Classic at USC. She also qualified to play in the Women’s Health Classic Junior Challenge Symetra Qualifier where she placed T12. Chloe is currently 16th on the Prep Preview Order of Merit. She has one win this season at the Orange Whip Classic at Clemson and a runner-up finish at the Rocket Tour Players Championship at UGA. Chloe also qualified for the Women’s Health Classic Junior Challenge Symetra Qualifier where she finished T7. Katelyn is currently ranked 8th on the Prep Preview Order of Merit and has one win this season at the Palmetto Classic at USC. Jordan finished the 2017 season ranked 12th in the Prep Southeast Order of Merit and had 2 wins in the SC One-Day Series. Kennedy is currently ranked 57th on the PKB Performance Index and qualified for the 2018 Women’s Health Classic Junior Challenge Symetra Qualifier where she finished T16.

About the Vicki DiSantis Girls’ Championship

The Vicki DiSantis Girls’ Championship began in 2006 and is named in honor of long-time Carolinas junior girls’ golf supporter Vicki DiSantis. Vicki DiSantis is currently a Carolinas Golf Association Executive Committee member, USGA Girls’ Junior Committee member, past president of the North Carolina Women’s Golf Association and is a past Junior Girls’ Director of the (now-dissolved) Carolinas Women’s Golf Association. The Vicki DiSantis Girls’ Championship has become one of the most prestigious girls’ championships in the Carolinas, annually drawing top-ranked players from North and South Carolina. The championship is conducted at 36 holes of stroke play in one division. Entry is open to any female amateur golfer, aged 12-18 as of May 13, 2018, who has not started college, is a legal resident of North or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active GHIN USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 18.3.
