Update: Hawkins Leads After Round 2 of the 2017 PKBGT Invitational at Grandover Resort

The culmination of a year’s worth of tournaments has brought us to the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour’s most prestigious event of the year, the 2017 PKBGT Invitational at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC. The field for this year’s event features 72 players from 14 different states making it one of the most diverse and top ranked fields in PKBGT history. Players have earned their spot to the Invitational by finishing at the top of the PKBGT Orders of Merit, winning their state championship, playing in Invitational qualifiers, or earning an at-large bid.

On Sunday, November 12, the PKBGT played the round 2 of the Invitational. After round two, Emily Hawkins (Lexington, NC 2018) leads the field by one stroke at three over par, with scores of 77-70-147. Just one stroke behind Hawkins is Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019), who lead the group after round one. She sits in second place at four over par with scores of 73-75-148. Amanda Sambach (Davidson, NC 2021) is in third place at six over par with scores of 76-74-150. Currently in fourth place is Kate Owens (Suwanee, GA 2018) with scores of 75-77-152. There are two players tied for fifth place after round two, Holly McCann (Raleigh, NC 2019) and Anna Morgan (Spartanburg, SC 2019). For Championship Monday, the field was cut to the low 36 scores and ties. Who will be named the 2017 PKBGT Invitational Champion? We look forward to an exciting finish!
