Preview: NC One-Day Series @ Pine Island CC

On July 18, 2017, the PKBGT will play the next North Carolina One-Day Series tournament at Pine Island Country Club, home to the Carolinas Golf Association’s Vicki DiSantis Girls’ Championship. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.

Featured in the 9-player Prep Series are  Claire Patrick (Creedmoor, NC 2018), Emily Song (Charlotte, NC 2019), and Kathryn Elliott (Coats, NC 2018).  Each player has competed in at least one NC One-Day Series event this season. Claire finished 3rd at her last NC One-Day Series appearance at MacGregor Downs CC, Emily placed 2nd at her last NC One-Day Series event at Monroe CC, and Kathryn finished 4th at her last NC One-Day Series event at MacGregor Downs CC. They look to continue their success next week at Pine Island CC.

Featured in the 16-player Futures Series are Macy Pate (Boone, NC 2023), Amber Capote (Waxhaw, NC 2020), and Cindy Song (Waxhaw, NC 2023).  Macy is currently ranked 2nd on the PKBGT Futures One-Day Order of Merit – NC and finished T2 at her last NC One-Day Series at MacGregor Downs CC. Amber is currently ranked 9th on the Futures One-Day Order of Merit and finished T2 at her last NC One-Day appearance at Monroe CC. Cindy is currently ranked T35 on the Futures One-Day Order of Merit and is coming off of a 1st place finish at the SC One-Day Series at Mid Carolina Club. They look to continue their success next week at Pine Island CC.

Featured in the Discovery Series are 2 players from North Carolina and Maryland.

Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Series and top-2 in the Discovery Series.  We look forward to a great event!
