Recap: Massengill, Harman win Wolfpack Classic

On Sunday, June 7, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the Wolfpack Classic at Lonnie Poole Golf Course at NC State University. Lonnie Poole, home to the North Carolina State University women’s golf teams was a demanding course for this two-day tournament. The event featured a field 67 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

In the Prep Series, Grace Massengill (Hickory, NC 2016) shot four over par with a score of 76 to place first with a two-day total of 147. Siranon Shoomee (Sanford, NC 2016) and Joliana Elias (Jamestown, NC 2015) tied for second, each with two-day totals of 148.

In the Future Series, Jaden Harman (Harrisonburg, VA 2019) shot three over par with a score of 75 to place first with a two-day total of 148. Nicole Adam (Mansfield, OH 2020) shot four over par with a score of 76 to place second with a two-day total of 150 and Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019) shot four over par with a score of 76 to place third with a two-day total of 155.

PKBGT returns to action on Wednesday, June 10 with the One-Day Open Series @ Rock Barn Golf & Spa (Jackson Course) in Conover, NC. The event brings together players North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
