On Tuesday, June 24, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the Golfdotz Classic at the Green Spring Valley Hunt Club. The course hosted the USGA US Junior Girls Championship and was a fantastic course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field of 14 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
In the Bell Division-Prep Series, Jane Moon (Lutherville Timonium, MD 2014) shot four over par with a score of 76 to place first with a two-day total of 156. Hanna Jia (Potomac, MD 2015) shot five over par with a score of 77 to place second with a two-day total of 161. Lena Capoccia (Bethesda, MD 2018) and Eunbbie Kim (Potomac, MD 2015) tied for third each with two-day totals of 163.
With her victory, Moon received a class A exemptions into the Tournament of Champions this fall. With her runner-up finish, Jia received a class C exemptions into the Tournament of Champions.
PKBGT returns to action on Sunday, June 29 with the One-Day Open Series @ Sapona Ridge CC in Lexington, NC. The event brings together players from North Carolina and South Carolina.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
