Rankings have been a hot topic this Fall and with the 2009 season just around the corner, their are many changes that affect girls in North Carolina and beyond that should be aware of.
AJGA EXEMPTIONS
In 2009, we are excited to be added to the AJGA Performance Based Entry System. The Golfweek and Polo Rankings are based off AJGA events so these are essential tools to build a national profile for top players.
In the Bell Division in 2009, all 2-day event winners and the Points Champion of the Spring Season will receive 1 Tournament Exemption each. In the Futures Division, the Tour Championship winner and the Points Champion of the Spring Season will receive 1 Junior All-Star Tournament Exemption.
TYGA NC STATE RANKINGS
The Tarheel Youth Golf Association has announced changes to its ranking system which affects all girls in North Carolina. View the press release here
What does this mean to the PKB Tour? First, all events (1 or 2 day) with at least eight girls in the Bell Division will receive points towards the NC Rankings. The system also weights events based on the number of participants so the larger fields on the PKB Tour will earn our players more points.
