On Tuesday, July 31, the 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the Boar’s Head Inn Classic @ Birdwood CC at UVA. Birdwood CC at UVA, hof the University of Virginia Cavaliers men’s and women’s golf teams, proved a challenging course for this two-day event. The event features a field of 23 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.
In the Bell Division, Victoria Allred (Pfafftown, NC 2014) carded one over par with a score of 72 to place first with 72 + 72 = 144. When asked about her win of 2012, Allred said, “It feels great to win. I would like to dedicate my win to my Grandfather who past away last week.” Amanda Hollandsworth (Floyd, VA 2014) carded four over par with a score of 75 to place second with 75 + 75 = 150. Jessica Spicer (Bahama, NC 2016) carded four over par with a score of 75 to place third with 77 + 75 = 152.
In the Futures Division, Savannah Gowarty (Raleigh, NC 2015) carded 11 over par with a score of 82 to place first with 85 + 82 = 167. Casey Gaffney (Chesterfield, VA 2014) carded 13 over par with a score of 84 to place second with 87 + 84 = 171. Hanna Jia (Potomac, MD 2015) carded 15 over par with a score of 86 to place third with 87 + 86 = 173.
PKBGT would also like to congratulate Bell Division player Elizabeth Bose (Norfolk, VA 20135) on her on-the-fly hole-in-one on hole #3, a 70 yard par 3. This is Bose’s first hole-in-one in her career. Bose’s hole-in-one is the fourth in PKBGT history.
PKBGT returns Monday, August 6 with the One-Day Open Series @ Chapel Hill CC in Chapel Hill, NC. It should be an exciting & challenging event.
