Day 1 is in the books of the SC University Classic @ The Walker Course and featured an extremely windy round of golf. Nicole Chin (2014, Irmo, SC) battled the 25 mph winds and carded a 4 over par 76 to take a one shot lead. Nicole carded 5 bodeys and 1 birdie, including an even par 36 on the back. Eden Howard (2014, Lamar, SC) birdied the first hole and followed up with steady play for a 5 over par 77. Natalie Srinivasan (2016, Spartansburg, SC) follows in third at 79.
Round two tee times begin at 10:30 am on Sunday with the awards ceremony to follow play. The event champion will qualify for the PKBGT Tour Championship in September.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
