Recap: Emma Talley Girls Tradition

Lexington, KY  The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour headed to Kearney Hills Golf Links for the final round of the Emma Talley Girls Tradition. 

Bell National

After opening with a round of 74 (+2) which included three birdies, Cailyn Rogers (Lexington, KY 2025) held a one shot lead entering Saturday’s final round. It turned into a two-girl race during a back and forth final round between Rogers and Emerson Purcell (New Albany, OH 2024). The two would wind up tied with a score of 53 (+9) and enter a sudden death playoff! It took five holes to break a tie between the two   and Rogers was able to hang on to win her first PKB National event! Zoey Cho (Suwanee, GA 2025) and Reagan Ramage (Burlington, KY 2025) played great despite the tough conditions and would end up tied for third. Cho and Ramage would combine for eight birdies over the two day event to share medalist honors!

 

1.  Cailyn Rogers (Lexington, KY 2025)  / 74 + 79 = 153 (+9)

2. Emerson Purcell (New Albany, OH 2024) / 75 + 78 = 153 (+9)

T3. Zoey Cho (Suwanee, GA 2025) / 80 + 77 = 157 (+13)

T3. Reagan Ramage (Burlington, KY 2025) / 77 + 80 = 157 (+13)

Futures National

Players battled difficult conditions all weekend and it lead to another playoff in the Futures National division! Karianna Campbell (Nicholasville, KY 2024) and Gabriella McGehee (Mineral, VA 2025) played solid golf over the two days to set the pace for the Futures division and enter a playoff which would be decided on the second playoff hole. Campbell was able to secure the title with a great bogey after playing her second out of a hazard! McKenzie Hauk (Kingsport, TN 2024) tied the round of the day on Saturday to move into third place for the tournament. Jadyn Thompson (Knoxville, TN 2025) played a great opening round, 81 (+9) which was the low round of the tournament in the Futures division, propelling her to medalist honors!

2. Gabriella McGehee (Mineral, VA 2025) / 85 + 84 = 169 (+25)

3. McKenzie Hauk (Kingsport, TN 2024) / 87 + 83 = 170 (+26)

4. Jadyn Thompson (Knoxville, TN 2025) / 81 + 90 = 171 (+27)

Congratulations to the 2023 Emma Talley Girls Tradition champions and all our medalists from Kearney Hills! We would like to thank the staff at Kearney Hills Golf Links for their incredible hospitality over the weekend and keeping the course in great shape! The course provided a great test for all our players and created an exciting final round to crown our champions!

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
