This weekend the 14th PKBGT Invitational returns to Bermuda Run Country Club. The most prestigious event of the year will provide another competitive, exciting tournament and a fun-filled weekend (Read the tournament preview here) ! After players complete their practice rounds on Friday, they are encouraged to attend the annual Inspire. Dream. Achieve. Banquet at the Village Inn Conference Center. The celebratory banquet will feature three guest panelists to speak on their experiences from playing and coaching at the collegiate level.
Rachel Kuehn
Rachel was born and raised in Asheville, NC and was a member of the PKB Tour for seven years. She is one of the most decorated players in PKB history with 24 Top-10 finishes including wins at the 2015 PKBGT Invitational and 2017 PKBGT Tournament of Champions. Rachel won three straight NCISAA High School State Championships and won the 2017 and 2018 Carolinas Women’s Amateur Championship. She received several honors as well including the 2019 National High School Coaches Association Senior Girl’s Golf Athlete of the Year, the 2019 Western NC Division II Athlete of the year, and in 2018 was the Western NC Division II Female Athlete of the Year, the All-WNC Golfer of the Year, and a member of the USA Today First-team All-USA.
Rachel’s success has continued in college. In her Freshman season she won the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, was selected to the Arnold Palmer Cup team, and named First Team WGCA All-American. As a Sophomore, Rachel was named Second-Team WGCA All-American, a WGCA All-American Scholar, and on the All-ACC Team. She was selected for the Arnold Palmer and Curtis Cup Team’s and earned medalist honors at the ACC Championships. This past year Rachel was named the ACC Player of the Year, earned All-ACC accolades, named WGCA First Team All-American, and WGCA All-American Scholar. She was selected to a third consecutive Arnold Palmer Cup Team and a second consecutive Curtis Cup Team. She won two individual titles, the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invite and the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, and moved up to #9 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. We’re excited to welcome Rachel back to the PKBGT Invitational and speak about her experiences and successes playing on the PKBGT and collegiately.
Dianne Dailey
Dianne returns to speak at the Inspire. Dream. Achieve. Banquet. bringing decades of experience in the women’s golf industry. Dianne was an accomplished amateur golfer, played professionally for 10 years where she served as the Vice-President of the LPGA and on the Board of Directors before being named President of the LPGA Tour in 1986. In 1988, she became the director of women’s athletics and head women’s golf coach at Wake Forest where she coached for 30 years and turned Wake Forest into perennial powerhouse.
During her 30-years with the Demon Deacons, Wake Forest won four ACC Championships, two NCAA East Regional Championships, made 15 NCAA Championship appearances and won 29 team tournament titles. She coached players that were named All-American’s a combined 28 times and All-ACC a combined 35 times, four ACC Players of the Years, three ACC Rookies of the Year, and won a combined 38 individual championships. Dianne received numerous awards as a coach winning ACC Coach of the Year four times, LPGA Southeast Coach of the Year three times, NGCA District Coach of the Year three times, as well as named LPGA Coach of the Year in 2001. She has been inducted into the NGCA Hall of Fame, Wake Forest Hall of Fame, and Salem College Hall of Fame (her alma mater).
Ryan Potter
Ryan has been on the Wake Forest coaching staff for five years and has served as the associate head coach for the last four years. One of the top assistant’s in college golf, Ryan was named WGCA National Assistant Coach of the Year in May. He has helped lead Wake Forest to two ACC Championships in four years and four consecutive NCAA Championship appearances. During his time at Wake Forest, Potter has helped coach players to win 13 individual titles and named to five All-Americans including Rachel Kuehn and Emilia Migliaccio. Prior to coming to Winston-Salem, Ryan served as assistant women’s coach at UNLV for two years. During his time at UNLV, the Running Rebels won the Mountain West Conference championship, made a NCAA Championship appearance, and finished in the Top-25 national rankings both years. Before coaching women’s collegiate golf, Ryan was an assistant men’s golf coach at Ohio State, Mississippi, and Alabama.
