Greensboro, NC – On Sunday, November 6th, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the final round of the Bash at the Beach Girls Classic at Lockwood Folly Country Club in Supply, NC.
Following an excellent first round, players were ready to take on the course, with many in striking distance. Tee time’s began at 8:00 am and players arrived at the practice facilities eager to get the round started and potentially take first place.
At the end of the day, two girls stood atop the leaderboards, each the champion of their division in the PKBGT Bash at the Beach Girls Classic.
Prep Preview
Miraya Lurie (Raleigh, NC 2027) took home first place with scores of 80, 78 = 159 (+14). Lurie held a share of the first round lead and played well down the stretch to pull ahead for a two stroke victory. Hannah Lowery (Myrtle Beach, SC 2025) played excellent golf over the two-day tournament and closed with the low round of the tournament, 76, to claim second place. Her two-day score for the tournament was 84, 76 = 160(+16). Sarah Durham (Hickory, NC 2023), Jillian Fatkin (Oak Island, NC 2024), and Lila Smith (Raleigh, NC 2024) all played consistent golf over the weekend and would tie for third.

Lillian Bowman (Hickory, NC 2026) held the overnight lead following an opening round 84. It would end up being a lead Bowman would hold onto Sunday, bettering her opening round by five strokes with a closing 79 for a total score of 163 (+19). Lillian Powell (Atlanta, GA 2026) scored an 83 on Sunday to grab a runner-up finish. Alexis Paquin (Fayetteville, NC 2026) and Laura Lea Allen (Graham, NC 2025) both played well on Sunday to finish as medalists at the 2022 Bash at the Beach.

About the PKBGT
Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2022 season will feature over 138 tournaments in 12+ states and with over 1,000 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.
