Preview: Commonwealth Classic

Greensboro, NC- The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour travels to the Commonwealth-State for the Commonwealth Classic at Lake Monticello Golf Club. For the first time this season, the PKB Girls’ Tour will host two National Series events over the same weekend. Nine States and some players from Canada will compete in the two divisions for the title.

Bell National

In the Bell National division, forty-two players will tee it up on the 5800 yards par 72 set up.

Top-ranked players in the field include:

  • Kathryn Ha— Roanoke, VA — Class of 2025 — #17 on the PKBGT Performance Index, Futures National Champion of the 2020 Commonwealth Classic
  • Victoria Kim — West Chester, PA — Class of 2022 — #41 on the PKBGT Performance Index
  • Grace Ridenour — Raleigh, NC — Class of 2025 — #54 on the PKBGT Performance Index

Play will begin on Saturday, March 20, at 10:00 AM EST (weather permitting).

Futures National

In the Futures National division, forty-two players will compete on the 5193 yards par 72 set up.

Top-ranked players in the field include:

  • Kanchana Duangsam — Haymarket, VA — Class of 2026 — #105 on the PKBGT Performance Index
  • Makayla Grubb — Stafford, VA — Class 0f 2025— #127 on the PKBGT Performance Index
  • Ashnoor Kaur — Roanoke, VA — Class of 2027 — #159 on the PKBGT Performance Index

Play will begin on Saturday, March 20, at 10:00 AM EST (weather permitting).

 

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
