On Saturday-Sunday, October 5-6, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the 2019 Peachtree Girls Classic at Stone Mountain Golf Club (Stonemont Course) in Stone Mountain, GA.
PKBGT National is back in session! The first stop on the 2020 national circuit, Stone Mountain Golf Club is the place to be to kick off both the Bell and Futures National divisions of the 2020 Order of Merit.
Nestled just 20 miles from the center of Atlanta, Stone Mountain Golf Club features 36 holes of championship golf. With both courses situated at the foothills of the picturesque Stone Mountain and Stone Mountain Lake, players will have the opportunity to play some great golf while taking in the beauty of Georgia nature.
For the inaugural Peachtree Girls Classic, competitors will be competing on the 18 hole Stonemont course, a classic challenge that places emphasis on shot accuracy and strategic course management. Players will be competing from two different yardages – Bell National at 6,025 yards and Futures National at 5,460 yards.
Not only is the Peachtree Girls a perfect way for players to earn early points on the PKBGT National Order of Merit, but the Bell Division will serve as a qualifier for the prestigious PKBGT Invitational played this November. An exciting new way to play your way into the PKBGT’s pinnacle event of the season, the top two finishers of the Bell division will earn an exemption to play at Bermuda Run Country Club this Veteran’s Day weekend, November 9-11.
With both familiar and fresh new faces, let’s take a closer look at next weekend’s field!
Bell National
Arriving at Stone Mountain as the highest ranked player in the field according to the PKBGT Performance Index, Loralie Cowart (Winston, GA 2021) enters the field as a frontrunner. Cowart posted two top 20 finishes during the 2019 PKBGT season, including at T16 finish after making the cut at the 2018 PKBGT Invitational.
Not far behind Cowart sitting at 54 on the PKBGT Performance Index, Sophie Lauture (Charlotte, NC 2024) enters the field fresh off of her 2019 PKBGT Futures National Order of Merit Title. Making her Bell division debut, Lauture will be a player to watch throughout the 2020 season.
Also inside the top 60 of the PKBGT Performance Index is Katie Scheck (Greensboro, GA 2021), the older of the Scheck sister duo who have posted consistently strong finishes at some of the highest ranked PKBGT events. Local favorites, the Scheck sisters hail from Greensboro, GA, just over an hour away from Stone Mountain.
Futures National
An exciting start to the PKBGT’s inaugural Peachtree Classic, the Futures field features many new faces who hail from several different parts of the southeast.
A PKBGT regular in the Tar Heel state, Kennedy Brady (Concord, NC 2022) enters the field as one of the returning PKBGT members. Brady’s best finish of the 2019 season came just last week at the TYGA/PKBGT North State Girls High School Challenge where she posted a smooth 85.
Another returning face, Zoe Duval (Cumming, GA 2025), is no stranger to the PKBGT after posting a top ten finish at the Palmetto Classic earlier this year.
G2 Girls Academy
Also in the field this weekend, both in the Bell and Futures National divisions, is the inaugural class of the G2 Academy, the nation’s ONLY Girls-Only Golf Academy. The Official Academy of the PKBGT, the G2 Academy was created to level the playing field by giving girls a tailored, girls-only experience and academy environment.
Representing the G2 Academy this weekend are Maya Beasley (Bell), Lindsey Byer (Bell), Ashley Chow (Bell), Regina Plascencia-Celis (Bell) and Fatima Rizvi (Futures).
Traveling from Bluffton, SC, this group will be a force to be reckoned with on the 2020 circuit!

We wish all of our competitors the best of luck next weekend at Stone Mountain Golf Club for the 2019 Peachtree Girls Classic – the 2020 National Series kickoff! To stay up to date on the leaderboard, be sure to follow live scoring HERE!
About the PKBGT
Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2020 season will feature nearly 100 tournaments in 9 states on the East Coast and with over 900 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.
