On Saturday – Sunday, September 21-22, the 2019 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the Southeast Series Finale at Smithfields Country Club in Easley, SC.
These PKBGT regional events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.
The PKBGT Southeast Regional Series, in partnership with the WSCGA Junior Foundation, featured six one-day events, concluding with this weekend’s series finale at Smithfields Country Club. Let’s see how the series came to a close this afternoon!
Prep Division
It was a tight race for the Prep division title of 2019 Southeast Series Finale as Abby Franks and Makenzie Norwood were tied for the lead going into the second round. Abby Franks (Roebuck, SC 2023) edged out the field by four strokes! Franks’ rounds of 82-82 were highlighted by four birdies – earning her the title of Southeast Series Finale Champion and South Carolina Prep Series Order of Merit Champion! She has earned a spot in the 2019 PKBGT Tournament of Champions and PKBGT Prep Invitational!
Just four strokes back in second place was Hannah Lindemann (Charlotte, NC 2021) with rounds of 85-83. Linemann’s rounds were highlighted by two birdies on the second day. Izzy Stone (Beaufort, SC 2020) finished in third place with scores of 87-84.
In fourth place was Alexis Hodge (Lexington, SC 2022) who posted rounds of 90-83. Rounding out the top five in fifth place was Makenzie Norwood (Kiawah, SC 2022) with rounds of 82-95.
Futures Division
Allison Lebo (North Augusta, SC 2022) claimed first place in the Futures Division of the Southeast Series Finale with rounds of 84-89. This was Allison’s second win on the Futures South Carolina Series this year, which solidified her reign on the South Carolina Futures Order of Merit for the second year in a row!
In a tie for second place for the finale event was Delia Parker (Greer, SC 2021) and Madilyn Saxton (Guyton, GA 2025) who both finished the weekend with scores of 95-91 and 96-90 respectively.
Rounding out the top four in fourth place was Edie-Raine Hardee (Gilbert, SC 2023) who posted rounds of 97-95.
Discovery Division
Taking home her first PKBGT victory of the season with rounds of 40-43 was Addisyn Newman (Knoxville, TN 2028) to win by four shots with four birdies over the weekend! Newman has now earned her spot in the 2019 Discovery Invitational this November.
In second place, Landry Hamm (Charlotte, NC 2027) closed the weekend with scores of 42-45.Landry had 6 top-5 finishes on the PKBGT Discovery Series this season!

Today, we recognized three Order of Merit Champions! Congrats to Abby Franks (PREP), Allison Lebo (Futures) and Gracie Song (Discovery) on their Order of Merit titles! We thank all of our participants and families for an exciting year on the PKBGT South Carolina Regional Series – beginning the season in May at The Members Club at Wildewood and finishing at Smithfields Country Club!

About the PKBGT
Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2019 season will feature over 90 tournaments in 9 states on the East Coast and with over 900 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.
