The Central Florida series continued its schedule at Eagle Creek Golf Club. The South Carolina and North Carolina regional series began play, and the National Series played a new event in the DMV at Reston National Golf Club. On Thursday, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour also announced this year’s Prep Preview Order of Merit recipient after the conclusion of the 2020 PKBGT Open Championship.

Just the second weekend since play resumed after a lengthy hiatus due to COVID-19, the PKBGT National Series headed north to the DMV for the Middle Atlantic Classic hosted by Reston National Golf Club in Reston, Virginia. This is the first time that the PKBGT circuit has played above North Carolina this season and also the first time that the tour has stopped at Reston National Golf Club. Beautiful weather and prime scoring conditions were the takeaways from the weekend where seven rounds were posted under par, including an opening-round 68 (-4) by Alina Ho (Great Falls, VA 2024)!
Michelle Cox (Allentown, PA 2021) led wire-to-wire for her first PKBGT Bell National victory of the year thanks to rounds of 71 (-1) and 70 (-2) to finish the event at (-3). In the two rounds, the PA native carded nine birdies! Alexsandra Lapple (Pinehurst, NC 2023) and Helen Yeung (Clarksville, MD 2024) tied Cox for the low round on Sunday with a round of 70 (-2).
Saia Rampersaud (Durham, NC 2025) overcame the hot putter of Alina Ho (Great Falls, VA 2024) to capture her second PKBGT Futures National title on Sunday after rounds of 71 (-1) and 75 (+3) for a two day total of (+2). The Durham native took home medalist honors at the Stoney Point Girls Classic earlier this year.

Over the weekend, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour Central Florida Series presented by IOA Insurance resumed playing with a record number of participants at Eagle Creek Golf Club. When the operations suspension due to COVID-19 back in Mid May nearly two months had passed since a tee shot was hit on the PKBGT circuit. The excitement was in the air on May 30th when a series high thirty competitors played in the one-day event at Eagle Creek in the metro Orlando area!
Abigail Fernandez (Windermere, FL 2023), Angelina Pacheco (Orlando, FL 2027), and Karolyna Adams (Saint Cloud, FL 2026) took home the medalist honor in each of their respective divisions. Fernandez and Pacheco both fired an impressive round of 73 (+1) to capture the Prep and Future Divisions. Adams took home the Discovery division thanks to the lone round under par on the day at 35 (-1).

The South Carolina Regional series kicked off over the weekend at Cobbs Glen Golf Club in Anderson, SC. A full field and the low scores continued in the Palmetto State with Karsyn Herron (Graniteville, SC 2027) shooting the low round of the day in the Discovery division. Karsyn recorded two birdies en route to a final score of 35 (-1)!
In the Prep division, a solid front-nine proved to be the difference for Abby Franks (Roebuck, SC 2023) who birdied three of her first six holes to go out in 35 (-1). Gracie Song (Waxhaw, NC 2026) finished second at (+4) for the day. The Futures Division saw the lone eagle be recorded thanks to Olivia Pellerin (Greenville, SC 2024) who eagled the par-5 eighth. Pellerin would go on to finish at (+6) for the event tied atop the leaderboard with fellow South Carolinian Caroline Hawkins (Columbia, SC 2026). Hawkins won in the scorecard playoff with a bogey on the last hole.

A questionable forecast pushed back the start of the PKBGT Regional series to Sunday down in the golf capital of North Carolina. Once the showers pushed through the greater Pinehurst area on Saturday evening, two great days of weather awaited the full fields at both Longleaf Golf and Family Club and Fox Fire Golf and Resort.
On Sunday, ten birdies and an eagle were among the scores for the three medalists in the Prep, Futures, and Discovery divisions. Karsyn Roberts (Pikeville, NC 2024) carded four birdies en route to a round of 74 (+2) to capture the Prep division. Finishing just behind the Pikeville, NC native was Mackenzie Daffin (Fayetteville, NC 2021) who nearly surged back to tie with Roberts, but ended a stroke behind the eventual winner. Sahana Mantha (Charlotte, NC 2025) overcame a very rocky start to her round to take home the Futures division title with a round of 77 (+5). Mantha started +5 through her first four holes but recovered with two birdies to close out her outward nine. Madison Myers (Cary, NC 2025) and Scotty Foley (Harrisburg, NC 2021) tied for second, with Myers taking home the medal thanks to a birdie on the par-5 sixteenth hole.
The low rounds of the week came from two of the youngest competitors in the field. Jenna Kim (Raleigh, NC 2027) and Honorine Nobuta Ferry (Pinehurst, NC 2028) lit up the front nine shooting a combined (-6)! Jenna’s eagle on the par-5 eighth was the deciding factor for the two phenoms. Jenna ended the day with a flawless 31 (-4) to win by two strokes over Nobuta Ferry’s round of 33 (-2).
Fox Fire Golf and Resort provided another great day of weather and scoring conditions for a packed field on Monday. It was also one of the best days for the pace of play with EVERY single group finishing their rounds in under four and a half hours! Elizabeth Lohbauer (Huntersville, NC 2021) captured the Prep title with a round of 77 (+5) defeating Heather Appelson (Wake Forest, NC 2023) by a stroke. Ellie Acrey (Winston-Salem, NC 2026) and Garland Gould (Raleigh, NC 2026) ended their rounds tied atop the Futures leaderboard after posting rounds of eight over, two strokes ahead of Vivian Shillingsburg (Wake Forest, NC 2023). Acrey won medalist honors over Garland Gould in a scorecard playoff with a par on the par-4 eighteenth.
Once again a shootout occurred in our Discovery division between Jenna Kim (Raleigh, NC 2027) and Honorine Nobuta Ferry (Pinehurst, NC 2028) tearing up the Grey Course! The duo ended the nine holes with a combined 11 birdies! Kim ended the day with six birdies and no bogeys to close with a round of 30 (-6), two shots clear of Nobuta Ferry at 32 (-4).

It was all but finalized who would be the next recipient of the Prep Preview Order of Merit (OOM) trophy when the first tee shot of Grace Ridenour (Cary, NC 2025) landed in the fairway on Monday morning at the Open Championship. The Cary, NC native held a substantial lead over the next best competitor in the rankings & 8 players in the top-10 were not participating in the event. By the end of the two days, Grace held a 120 point lead over Gracie Song (Waxhaw, NC 2026) in the OOM race. Ridenour finished in the top 5 in five of the six events she played in the Prep Preview division. In her other start, she snagged a T9 finish.
