Charlottesville, VA- The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour began the spring Championship schedule on Saturday at Birdwood Golf Course, the home of UVA Women’s Golf.

Bell National

The 2022 Spring Bell Invitational is proving to be one of the most competitive events yet this year. Kate Barber (Savannah, GA 2025), Claire Lu (Edison, NJ 2024), Grace Lu (Edison, NJ 2022), Katherine Brictson (Raleigh, NC 2024), and Saia Rampersaud (Durham, NC 2025) are all tied for first going into round #2 after rounds of 75 (+3). With the entire field battling intense weather conditions today (Including high winds up to 25 mph and hail) scoring is close and can still be anyone’s tournament. Grace Lu also recorded a field-high four birdies at Birdwood Golf Course and Boar’s Head Resort.

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2021-2022 season will feature over 110 tournaments in 9 states on the East Coast, and with over 1,000 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.  Learn more about the PKBGT at http://www.pkbgt.org/.
