Update: DuPont Girls Classic

Wilmington, DE- The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour returned to Dupont Country Club after a year off due to COVID-19 for the annual Dupont Girls Classic. Dupont Country Club, former host of the LPGA Championship, will be a true test for this full field representing 10 states.

Two PKB vets hold a share of the overnight lead at the Dupont Girls Classic at DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, DE. Rylie Heflin (Avondale, PA 2021) and Irene Kim (Woodstock, MD 2026) fired opening rounds of 72 (E) to lead by two heading into tomorrow’s final round. Heflin, the Duke Women’s Golf signee, carded two birdies on the day. Irene added two more on the card to be the early clubhouse leader. Alina Ho (Great Falls, VA 2024) joins Heflin and Kim as the third player in the final group after her round of 74 (+2).

Futures National

Vidhi Lakhawala (Kendall Park, NJ 2026) finds herself with the lead Wilmington, DE, searching for her second PKBGT Futures National title of the spring. Lakhawala carded an opening-round 75 (+3) on Saturday. Vidhi went off the rails when she made the turn and took nearly seven holes to find her best form. Lakhawala recovered, making birdies on both seventeen and eighteen to sleep with some momentum heading into tomorrow. Michelle Yeung (Clarksville, MD 2027) sits in second place after her round of 78 (+6). Six players are tied for third. The third in the final pairing will be Vincenza “Vinny” Papa (Foster, RI 2026).

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
