Prep Preview

Making her 2021 tour debut, Kate Barber (Savannah, GA 2025) is in prime position to join an illustrious group of champions from the Peach State to win on the PKB Girls Tour. Kate began the playing of the first-ever Sea Island Resort Girls Classic with a (+1) round of 73 on a soggy and breezy day on the coastline of Georgia. Barber snagged two birdies, one on each side, to take the one-shot lead over her fellow Georgia native Mia Sessa (Augusta, GA 2022). Like Barber, Sessa is hoping to earn quality PKBGT Performance Index points to earn a higher status on tour. Joining Barber and Sessa in the final group is Sawyer Brockstedt (Rehobeth Beach, DE 2025) after her opening round of 76 (+4).

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2020-2021 season will feature over 110 tournaments in 9 states on the East Coast, and with over 1,000 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.  Learn more about the PKBGT at http://www.pkbgt.org/.
