Cutter Creek lived up to the hype as the #1 coastal golf course in North Carolina. Leading wire-to-wire for her first PKBGT National Series title was Sahana Mantha (Charlotte, NC 2025). Before this weekend, Mantha’s best finish was T-6th at the Prep & Futures Invitational at Ford’s Colony CC in Williamsburg, VA. The 14-year-old opened the tournament with a (E) round of 72 that included a birdie-birdie finish on the seventeenth and eighteenth holes. Mantha made it interesting for herself on the final day, going out in thirty-nine and home in forty with a 6 on the par-four tenth hole. Paired with Mantha in the final group were Victoria Matthews (Great Falls, VA 2023) and Heather Appelson (Wake Forest, NC 2023), who both finished two strokes back. After a scorecard playoff, Matthews clinched second place.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour returns to action next weekend for the Flat Creek Girls Classic at Flat Creek Country Club in Peachtree City, GA.

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The Tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the Tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2020 season will feature over 110 tournaments in 9 states on the East Coast, and with over 1,000 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only Tour in the country.  Learn more about the PKBGT at http://www.pkbgt.org/.
