Recap: Cutter Creek Girls Classic

Snow Hill, NC  The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour headed east for the first playing of the Cutter Creek Girls Classic at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, North Carolina. This event featured contestants in our Prep Preview and Futures National divisions in the event just before the Regional Tournament of Champions at the Palmetto Dunes Golf Resort. Many of our youngest players on the tour who just graduated out of the Discovery Division made their eighteen hole debut at Cutter Creek Golf Club.

Prep Preview

Cutter Creek lived up to the hype as one of the best up and coming golf facilities in the Carolina’s. Leading wire-to-wire for her first PKBGT National Series title was Charlotte Scully (Chadds Ford, PA 2021). Before this weekend, Scully’s best finish was 20th at the Mid-Atlantic Girls Championship at Musket Ridge Golf Club in Myersville, MD. The 17-year-old opened the tournament with a (+4) round of 76 that included a birdie on the first hole. Scully made it interesting for herself on the final day, going out in thirty-six and home in forty-three with a 9 on the par-five eighteenth hole. Waiting for Scully to finish was Karsyn Roberts (Pikeville, NC 2024), who tied Scully’s round on Saturday (+4).  Scully sealed the deal in extras to claim the Prep Preview title.

1. Charlotte Scully (Chadds Ford, PA 2021) / 76 / 79 = 155 (+11)*

2. Karsyn Roberts (Pikeville, NC 2024) / 79 / 76 = 155 (+11)

3. Sadler Miller (Clayton, NC 2022) / 78 / 78 = 156 (+12)

4. Madelyn Vogan (New Bern, NC 2023) / 79 / 79 = 158 (+14)

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour returns to action next weekend for the PKBGT Regional Tournament of Champions at Palmetto Dunes Beachfront Resort at Hilton Head Island, SC.

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The Tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the Tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2020 season will feature over 110 tournaments in 9 states on the East Coast, and with over 1,000 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only Tour in the country.  Learn more about the PKBGT at http://www.pkbgt.org/.
