Recap: 2019 PKB Invitational at Bermuda Run Country Club

The top 31 players from the first two rounds of the 2019 PKBGT Invitational arrived to the course ready to tackle the final round of play at Bermuda Run Country Club. With a beautiful day ahead, several players surged forward in one final effort to reach the top of the leaderboard.

Amanda Sambach (Davidson, NC 2021) entered the final round of play tied for the lead. She played a steady round of golf on the front nine, making par on every hole and then making a birdie on hole nine.

Sambach held on to the lead by making three more birdies on the back nine, bringing home the 2019 PKBGT Invitational title with a final score of 70-74-70, 214, which is a new scoring record for the PKB Invitational tournament! This is Sambach’s second Invitational win, her last in 2017 at Grandover Resort.

Sara Im (Duluth, GA 2023) finished with an impressive round today of 2-under par, 70. Her four birdies helped her jump into sole possession of second place with a tournament total of 218.

There was a three way tie for third place. Kara Carter (Kingsport, TN 2021), Rebecca Skoler (Needham, MA 2020) and Ffion Tynan (Tonyrefail, UK 2021) all finished the tournament with a total of 220.

Rounding out the top-6 was Julie Shin (Brambleton, VA 2022) with consistent scoring of 74-75-73, 222.
