2010 PKB Girls Tour Recap

We have reached the time of year of lists and recapping great moments as we round of 2010. The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Tour had great success this year reaching over 270 members and 24 events.  Let’s get right into the Top 5 Moments for 2010.

5. This past June, Ansley Vaughn hit a Hole in One at Forest Oaks 13th hole.   This was the first Hole in One in PKB Tour history

4. Sarah Bae unleashed a great score of 69 at UNC Chapel Hill event and won the tournament.  She followed up her victory there with a win at PKB tour’s Major at Salisbury.

3. 5 PKB Members won their State High School Championships.  Lyberty Anderson won in Virginia, Elise Smidinger won in Maryland, Kristi Ingram won the NC 4A title, Kayla Scuipider won the 1A 2A & 3A titles, Kaitlyn Matheson won the South Carolina State Championship.

2. Katie Kirk shoots a 66 at Stoney Creek during the PKB Invitational to tie the lowest round on the tour with Lyberty Anderson.  Katie went on to win the title by 9 shots, marking the largest winning margin to date on the Tour.

1. Katie Kirk has a come from behind victory taking the top spot in the Order of Merit over Sarah Bae. Katie won the Precision Girls Championships to surpass Sarah Bae in the rankings.

College News

Over 43 PKB alumni are pursuing golf at the collegiate levels.  Girls are playing at Division 1, 2, and 3 schools around the country. Find out who is signing and where they are going: Click Here

Future news
Pine Needles Preview: PKB Tour’s first event will take place at Pine Needles in January 2011.  Lyberty Anderson won the event at Pine Needles last year and will be looking to reclaim her title.  Pine Needles, a former host of the US Women’s Open, has a lot of tradition at the course.  The weather was in the 50s and 60s last year with a great turnout.

PKBGT Masters: The first Major of the year will be played at Salem Glen Golf Club in Clemmons, NC March 5 & 6.
