Recap: Last Chance Invitational Qualifier @ Bermuda Run CC (West)

On Sunday, October 28, 2018 the PKBGT played the Last Chance Invitational Qualifier at Bermuda Run CC (West) in Bermuda Run, NC.

There were 40 players from five states throughout three regions spanning six graduation classes in the event. They were all competing to earn an invitation to the 2018 PKBGT Invitational at Bermuda Run Country Club on November 10-12, 2018.

The Invitational will bring together the top players on the East Coast and the Peggy Kirk Bell Girl’s Golf Tour, the nations largest “girl’s only” golf tour. Players earn their spots through play on the PKBGT or through accomplishments during the year in junior girls’ golf. The PKBGT Invitational will kick-off of the 2019 PKBGT tour season.

Winning the Last Chance Invitational Qualifier was Emily Brubaker (Raleigh, NC 2020) with a 1-over par, 72. By winning the qualifier, Brubaker secured her spot in the 2018 Tournament of Champions at Pinehurst Resort in December.

Winning a scorecard tiebreaker, finishing in second place with a 77 was Victoria Cook (Reidsville, NC 2020). In third place was Kelly Topiwala (Matthew, NC 2020) who also scored a 77.  In fourth place was Mallory Fobes (East Bend, NC 2019) with a 77 as well. Rounding out the top five was Autumn Carey (Manning, SC 2022) who shot a 79.

The five players earning an invitation in to the 2018 PKBGT Invitational are:

  1. Emily Brubaker (Raleigh, NC 2020) – 72
