Recap: PKBGT Central Florida Series at The Bayou Club

On Saturday, April 27, the 2019 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the Central Florida Series at The Bayou Club in Largo, FL. The PKBGT is excited to be working in partnership with Insurance Office of America as the presenting sponsor of the series for the second year in a row!

These PKBGT regional events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

Prep and Futures Divisions

In the Prep Division, Tiffany Colin (Wesley Chapel, 2023) took home the title after posting a solid round of 86 (+14) highlighted by 9 pars for her first PKBGT Prep Regional victory of the 2019 season to punch her ticket to the 2019 PKBGT Tournament of Champions presented by Golf Pride.

Edging out the competition in the Futures Division was Abigail Fernandez (Windermere, FL 2023) after shooting a score of 90 (+18) to win by just one shot over Morgan Stephens (Sanford, FL 2020). Fernandez’s victory at The Bayou Club was her third PKBGT victory of 2019!

The Champion of the Discovery Division was PKBGT North Carolina Series native Leah Edwards (Greensboro, NC 2025).
