Preview: SC One-Day Series at Orangeburg CC

On Saturday, August 11th, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour in partnership with the WSCGA Junior Golf Foundation plays the  South Carolina One-Day Series event at The Orangeburg CC in Orangeburg, SC.

The SC One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in the South Carolina region, concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The South Carolina One-Day Series event at Orangeburg CC features a field of 22 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

Featured in the 7 player Prep Series are Ceclia Knecht (North Charleston, SC 2019), Cori Langford (Blythewood, SC 2020) and Telie McCoy (Early Branch, SC 2019). Cori is currently ranked 35th on the Prep SE Order of Merit and finished runner-up at the Coastal Carolina Classic. Telie is currently ranked T43 on the Prep SE Order of Merit and finished 1st at the SC One-Day at CC of South Carolina.
